Successful Home Sales

The importance of curb appeal was just brought home to me today as I was looking for a rental house for a customer from out of town. There was one house that may be a little smaller than some others, but, boy, is it cute. I strongly recommended it to my customers. A few things I noticed about this house that might help others trying to sell their house:

1. REMOVE ALL CLUTTER (I bet you have heard that before) The front, sides, and back yards are completely free of anything but grass and classic understated landscaping.

2. NEUTRALIZE The house is painted and trimmed in neutral colors, tan, neutral brown, and red brick.

3. ADD A FRESH, CLEAN, GOOD-MEMORY EVOKING SIGN OF LIVING THERE The backyard, though free of any clutter at all, had a small wood shed filled with what looked like freshly cut wood. It just immediately made me think of pleasant family and friends activities. I am not sure how to explain the feeling I had looking at that wood, but it seemed to say, "You can see yourself living here, can't you?"
